The Constitutional Court Trust (CCT) seeks a Trust Manager on a one year part-time contract (one and a half days a week / 6 days a month) to manage its programmes and projects, and provide strategic leadership in accordance with the directives of CCT Trustees, who include Justices of the Court and other senior legal and professional figures. The incumbent will provide financial and human resource management to all programmes, including the Constitutional Court Art Collection (CCAC) programme.
ABOUT THE CCT
Established soon after South Africa's transition to democracy, the Constitutional Court Trust (CCT) is a non-profit organisation based at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. The CCT exists to promote human rights, the rule of law, constitutionalism and judicial independence in the African region - with a special focus on the Constitutional Court of South Africa. It does so through artistic expression, legal fellowship and clerkship programmes, and library initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage programmes and projects of the Trust
- Manage and support staff
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of budgets, plans and programme reports
- Fundraise, including preparation of funding proposals and reports
- Build and maintain relations with external supporters and funders.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be a South African citizen or resident with right to work in South Africa.
- A degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years working experience at a senior level in an NGO or business environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to constitutional values.
- Understanding of the South African soclal and legal context
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent project management skills with a proven track record in leading and managing programmes.
- Experience securing and managing charitable grants.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Relevant IT/web skills.
